Taike awards working grants and project grants to professional artists. Working grants are intended to cover working and living costs. Project grants are intended for individual projects.

The Arts Council of Varsinais-Suomi has awarded a total of 235,000 euros in regional grants for 2024. Altogether 35 artists or working groups were awarded regional grants out of 330 applicants.

The Arts Council of North Karelia has awarded a total of 140,000 euros in regional grants for 2024. Altogether 23 artists or working groups were awarded regional grants out of 116 applicants.

The National Council for Multidiscplinary Art has awarded artist grants beginning in 2025. Artist grants were awarded to 14 artists.

The National Council for Literature has awarded artist grants beginning in 2025. Artist grants were awarded to 39 writers and 8 translators.

This development programme aims to increase working opportunities for artists, improve livelihoods and promote occupational wellbeing.

A total of 519,000 euros was awarded in project grants. These grants were awarded to 61 applicants out of 363 who applied.

This spring, the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) have continued preparing for the restructuring of Taike’s arts councils. The background to the restructuring is the external evaluation of Taike (Agency Taking Shape) published in 2021, the related hearings and the opinion rounds held in autumn 2023.

In February, the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) requested nominations for candidates to its national and regional arts councils for the 2025–2026 term from significant actors in the arts sector. The deadline for nominations was 31 May 2024.

The Arts Council of Häme has awarded a total of 155,000 euros in regional grants for 2024. Altogether 21 artists or working groups awarded project grants out of 161 applicants.
