Seventh call for applications for COVID-19 grants and subsidies: 4–17 February 2022

The Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) is distributing approximately 34 million euros in the latest round of COVID-19 grants and subsidies to professional artists, private traders and sole proprietors in the art, culture and creative sectors. The application period begins on 4 February and ends on 17 February at 4:00pm.

All professional groups within the art, culture and creative sectors may apply for the support. Two forms of support are available: grants for private persons and subsidies for private traders and sole proprietors. Applicants must choose one or the other.

Private persons may apply for support in the form of a grant amounting to 4000 – 6000 euros each. All grant recipients shall be awarded the same amount, which shall be determined according to the number of applications received. The intention is to provide support to the broadest possible range of professionals who meet the application criteria.

The need for support shall be evaluated according to the professionalism of the applicant and the reduction in work and income due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A separate working plan does not need to be included with the application. The grant may be used, for example, to maintain professional skills, to plan activities, for practicing, for artistic or creative work, or for activities that support these.

Private traders and sole proprietors may apply for support in the form of a subsidy amounting to 6000 euros. The need for support shall be evaluated according to the professionalism of the applicant and the reduction in work and income due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the plan for using the support.

The latest call for applications is based on the supplementary budget proposed by the Government to Parliament on 3 February 2022.

Application period

The application period for both forms of support begins on Friday 4 February and ends on Thursday 17 February at 4:00pm. All applicants shall receive written notification of the decision: private persons at the beginning of April and private traders and sole proprietors by the end of April. The support shall be paid as soon as possible after the decisions have been made.

Decisions regarding the previous call for applications for COVID-19 support in December 2021 will be made in March 2022.
