By proposal of the Central Arts Council, the President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö has awarded film director and photographer Pirjo Honkasalo the title of academician. Honkasalo will receive the title at an award ceremony to be held at a later date.

The total amount allocated for these COVID-19 grants is 8.7 million euros, and the amount of each grant is 3000 euros. The application period begins on 1 May and ends on 15 May 2020 at 4:00pm.
