Application period for Taike grants and subsidies begins on 1 October
Operational and special subsidies for communities can be applied for in October. These subsidies are intended for operations or projects to be carried out in 2019. In addition to subsidies for children’s culture and various artforms, communities can also apply for subsidies for festivals and cultural journals, artist-in-residence subsidies and subsidies for promoting the accessibility of culture, cultural wellbeing, and cultural diversity.
A total of one million euros is also being allocated this autumn on a one-time basis to actors within the field of the performing arts in the form of three-year operational subsidies. These subsidies are available to communities active in the production of live public performances of theatre, circus, dance art, music and other forms of art at a specific moment.
The application period for operational and special subsidies for communities ends on 31 October 2018.

The application period for special subsidies for children’s culture has been moved from spring to autumn. Accordingly, subsidies for children’s culture projects to be carried out in 2019 must be applied for in October. The final deadline for applications is 31 October 2018.
Application period for project grants continues until 15 November
Project grants for artists and working groups are intended for projects to be carried out in 2019. Artists and working groups can also apply for grants for promoting cultural diversity and mobility. The application period for grants ends on 15 November 2018. Artists and contact persons for working groups can apply electronically by logging in to our online services using their personal eBanking identifiers.
Various artforms grouped together under the same category
Take has also made changes to how some artforms are categorised and combined artforms that are similar to each other. The new categorisation provides more flexibility for supporting these artforms, as the appropriated funds no longer have to be divided into such small parts.
Light and sound art are now included in media art, while environmental art is now categorised under the visual arts. When applying for grants for performance art and the performing arts, applicants can choose between the visual arts and theatre. Illustrations and comics have been combined under their own category.

To apply electronically, communities must have a Katso ID, which should be obtained well in advance. The Katso ID is available free of charge from the Population Register Centre, yritys.tunnistus.fi. Communities must have a valid Business ID to obtain the Katso ID. Instructions for obtaining a Business ID can be found on website of the Business Information System, www.ytj.fi.
