Application period for Taike grants begins on 1 October

The application period for artists and working groups begins on 1 October and ends on 10 November 2021. In addition to project grants, cultural diversity grants can also be applied for.

Cuts are being made to Taike’s budget that will affect the awarding of grants. Appropriations for most arts will be cut by around 15%. The cuts apply to almost all appropriations allocated to Taike from gaming revenues.

Support for foreign travel and artist residencies in the form of project grants

Grants for mobility are being offered for the last time this autumn and can be used for travel during the remainder of 2021 and the beginning of 2022. After this period, support for foreign travel and artist residencies in 2022 can be applied for in the form of project grants. In future, grants for international mobility can be applied for from Taike twice a year: during the call for applications for project grants in autumn and during the call for applications for regional grants in spring.

Applications related to international mobility will be reviewed in future within individual arts councils in order to utilise their expertise within their specific field of the arts or region.

Applicants for multidisciplinary art grants must select their primary artform

Unlike in previous years, applications for grants for multidisciplinary art projects will be reviewed within the arts council most closely associated with the artform in question. Applicants themselves must specify the most suitable artform for the project.

In the previous application round, Taike distributed more than 3.2 million euros in project grants in different fields of the arts. Of this amount, however, only 90,000 euros was allocated to multidisciplinary art projects. As a result, it has been extremely difficult for artists working in the field of multidisciplinary art to get a grant.

Application period ends on 10 November
