Calls for applications for support for communities to transfer to new online service this autumn
The Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) is transferring some calls for applications for support intended for communities to Applyforgrants.fi, the new joint online service of government grant authorities. The affected forms of support are:
- Project grants for “Percent for Art” projects
- General grants for festivals
- General grants for cultural magazines and online publications
- Project grants for children’s and youth culture
The application period for these forms of support is 1 October to 7 November. The application period has been extended to allow communities to familiarise themselves with the new service. Communities will require mandates by which an authorised person can represent the community. These can be granted and managed using the Suomi.fi e-Authorization service. Mandates will remain valid when transferring to the new system.
Calls for applications will be announced on the Applyforgrants.fi website approximately one week before the start of the application period. Information about all open grant calls and links to the calls for applications on the Applyforgrants.fi website will still be provided on the Taike website.
Changes to names and contents of different forms of support
In connection with transfer, changes will be made to the names and contents of the affected forms of support.
Taike will award support to festivals only through a separate general grant for festivals. There are two exceptions to this general rule:
- Support for festivals may be included within an operational subsidy for a specific artform, in which case it is not applied for in the form of a general grant for festivals.
- New children's culture festivals, or those children's culture festivals that have been organized only 1–2 times, are not eligible for grants for festivals, but they can still apply for a special subsidy for children’s culture.
Support for cultural magazines and online publications will change from project subsidies to general grants. General grants may be awarded to cover the applicant’s entire operations or a specific part of operations.sta yleisavustukseksi. Yleisavustusta voidaan myöntää hakijan koko toimintaan tai johonkin toiminnan osa-alueeseen.
Taike to transfer in stages to new joint online service of government grant authorities
The transfer of calls for applications to the new Applyforgrants.fi website will take place in stages, as a result of which Taike support can be applied for temporarily using two different systems. The following forms of support can still be applied for using Taike’s old online services this autumn:
- Subsidies for promoting diversity and combating racism
- Subsidies for promoting inclusion and cultural wellbeing
- Special subsidies for communities
- Operational subsidies within specific artforms
The application period for these subsidies is 1-31 October. Calls for applications will be announced on the Taike website approximately one week before the start of the application period, and applicants can log in to Taike’s online services using the link in the upper right corner of the Taike website.
Autumn application periods
In addition to support for communities, other forms of support that can be applied for this autumn include supplementary artist pensions and project grants for professional artists and working groups formed by them.
