The Right to Art – United Nations Day Seminar at the Arts Promotion Centre Finland

The Arts Promotion Centre Finland is organising a seminar on United Nations Day, Monday 24 October 2016, to discuss art, artistic work, international migration and the effects of these on the status of artists and the implementation of cultural rights. A report on the artistic expertise of immigrants compiled by the Arts Promotion Centre Finland will also be published at the seminar.

The seminar will be opened by Kirsi Pimiä, Non-Discrimination Ombudsman in Finland, followed by talks presented by the following artists and experts: Muhaned Durubi, artist; Kazem Ali Baba, director and scriptwriter; Petr Potchinchtchikov, Chairperson of the Subcommittee for Multiculturalism at the Arts Promotion Centre Finland; and Tanja Eloranta, Chairperson of Interkult Kassandra.

The seminar will be held on Monday 24 October 2016 from 10am to 2pm in the auditorium of the Arts Promotion Centre Finland’s head office at Hakaniemenranta 6. The venue is accessible for persons with restricted mobility. During the lunch break participants can buy lunch at the canteen.

The seminar will be held in English.
