Taike active on Advisory Board for the Creative Economy and in growth strategy planning

The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment and the Ministry of Education and Culture appointed an Advisory Board for the Creative Economy on 3 December 2024 with the aim of promoting the growth and internationalisation of Finland’s creative industries. The Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) is represented on the Advisory Board by Director Kaisa Rönkkö (Member), Head of Arts Support Henri Terho (Personal Deputy Member) and Internationalisation Expert Maria Pirkkalainen-Barber (Member of Secretariat).

The Advisory Board is an expert advisory body for business development in the creative economy that also participates in the implementation of the Cultural Policy Report.

“I am really happy that Taike has a strong role on the Advisory Board for the Creative Economy. I hope that it will foreshadow that the new Culture Agency of Finland could be a truly cross-administrative actor, one that would specifically develop a multi-administrative operating culture and supporting structures in the direction of both the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs," says Kaisa Rönkkö, Director of Taike.

Taike’s internationalisation strategy supports board work

The first task of the Advisory Board is to prepare proposals for the goals and measures of the creative economy growth strategy. A growth strategy that strengthens the position and growth of the creative economy will be published in summer 2025. This is also supported by the work that began at Taike last year to form the agency’s own internationalisation strategy, which will be published in spring 2025.

“Over the past year, we have been mapping out how Taike could best support internationalisation activities in the arts and culture sector. Promoting collaboration between different actors has played a major role in this. It is encouraging that internationalisation is also reflected in the themes of the Advisory Board for the Creative Economy,” says Maria Pirkkalainen-Barber, Internationalisation Expert at Taike.
