I earned a Doctor of Arts (Dance) degree in 2015. The title of my doctoral dissertation was “Rawboard and Love” (Raakalautaa ja rakkautta) – Three compositions from the dance of my own life.

Before joining Taike, I was a lecturer at the University of the Arts Helsinki and post-doctoral researcher at the Performing Arts Research Centre (TUTKE) and Center for Educational Research and Academic Development in the Arts (CERADA). I am affiliated with the Observatory for Arts and Cultural Education, Finland.

I am a founding member of arts cooperative Apinatarha (2008), the dance school Vapaa (TPO) (2010) and the centre for artistic activity and research Kattoatmosphere (2020). For many years I was a teacher, artistic director and deputy rector at the Vantaa (formerly Raatikko) Dance School. I started my career as a dancer in the early 1980s.

In 2002, I was awarded the State Prize for Children’s Culture.
